Stitch Sow Scribe - An Old Love Renewed
Stitch Sow Scribe’s Fair Isle Beanies
Knitting and Crocheting were old loves that were renewed by the stress and anxiety that Covid brought into our world. As a teacher, Jill was on the front line of seeing our world disrupted. As teaching switched to online, and teachers worked from home, the line between work and home was blurred, leading to anxiety and stress for many teachers (in addition to the students and their parents).
Out of this stress and the everything unknown about the near future, Jill recalled how much she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She had first learned both skills when she was 9 or 10 years old and really enjoyed the process. Unfortunately, like many people, time grew scarce over the years and she found herself with little time to spend pursuing these creative and enjoyable hobbies that Jill has found are the best stress and anxiety relievers in her life. In fact, Stitch Sow Scribe names three stress relievers that have continued to help Jill through the years since Covid; knitting/crocheting, gardening, and writing.

As Jill started knitting and crocheting again and shared her process and finished work on social media, requests began coming in for items that she makes. Of the many items Jill currently makes, two items in particular continue to be best sellers. The Fair Isle Beanies, pictured at the top, and bottle holders, shown below, are both items that showcase both Jill’s skills and the range of products that can be made with yarn, an idea, and the skill set to carry it out. Beanies start at $25 (infant size) while the bottle holders start at $20 and will hold an full size wine bottle, perfect for a picnic! And you can even customize colors and sizes for your beanies.
