Three Shepherds Dog Accessories - For the Large Breeds
Dogs have long been an integral part of the Midwestern family. From working dogs, to guard dogs, to lap dogs, we have always found them to add value to our lives in many ways, whether that was helping around the house and farm or merely providing devotion that only they seem to be able to show.
As dogs get more integrated into our lifestyle, they spend more time with us in public, as opposed to at home, and can act as an easy connection for people to meet each other for the first time. Something that used to be rare, and even then was only seen regularly on small dogs, is putting accessories on them. While the small breeds had plenty of options for accessories, larger breeds were basically left with spiky collars and boring bandanas. This gap in the market was what convinced Melissa, the owner of Three Shepherds Dog Accessories, to open up shop. As the owner of (now) five German Shepherd Dogs, finding quality accessories that made her dogs look more friendly and reflect her and her family’s personalities was a seemingly impossible task.
Melissa first started making dog accessories on her late mother’s sewing machine back in 2020. Using her mother’s machine, along with the techniques first taught to her by her mother, brings back great memories each time something is made. Despite upgrading to a different machine to keep pace with the business, the techniques remain, keeping that connection going strong.
Now I don’t know about your dogs, but mine don’t seem worried about how long their collars, toys, or bandanas will last. Therefore, the quality of products I attach to them must be top notch. Three Shepherds Dog Accessories, like all businesses featured on Shop Different, has a quality focus. As a byproduct of being handmade, businesses are much more likely to see defects than more automated processes. That personal interaction with all the materials also assists in finding the best suppliers to make sure the items that are purchased are all usable and reflective of the brand that each business is trying to build.
