Wabashiki Woodworks - The New Victorian Movement

When restoring an historic structure, one of the most difficult tasks is finding parts that fit both the style and the available space. This difficulty leads property owners to restore shops, to taking shortcuts on renovations, to heading in a different direction from a design approach, to giving up entirely on what was once their dream of restoring their property to its original glory.

Thankfully, there is a person in the Midwest that can help with that! Rob Bennet of Wabashiki Woodworks is a woodworker with an eye to Victorian styles and creating reproductions of historical designs. With Rob’s experience, he is able to reproduce, or design fresh, anything you need for your own restoration project that will honor the time your property was originally built, maintaining the character that made the property so attractive in the first place. All pieces are made in Rob’s workshop located in Terre Haute, Indiana using freehand drawing techniques and are available for delivery or pickup. They are all completely customized for your space and needs and made to the fractional inch to fit exactly where you need the piece to be placed.

So you’re not restoring an old home? Well, Rob also creates things with a vintage feel that are not specifically made for installment in homes. Wedding arches and free-standing designs such as the peacock (shown above) are not specific to historic architecture but will allow you to bring an amazing piece of work into your life. Wedding arches are designed in either queen or king size and can be hung in the home of the newlyweds to create a lasting memory of the special occasion.
